Domain nameservers or DNS is a term which is used in connection with domain names, hosting and email.
When someone visits your website, or sends you an email, their ISP checks your domain name to find out where on the internet it is hosted.
This is achieved using domain nameservers. Domain nameservers will resolve a human friendly address into a computer friendly address and will guide browsing machines to the server hosting your website.
Each domain name has at least two domain nameservers so that if one should fail, or is busy, the other domain nameserver can take over and host your site.
If you want Solve the Web to host your website and emails, but have already registered your domain name elsewhere, you will need to change the domain nameservers to:
ns2.livedns.co.uk
ns3.livedns.co.uk

If you have used a website provider to register your domain name for you, simply ask them to change it!
However if you registered your domain name yourself you should have been given access to a control panel. Log into this and there should be an Administration function that allows you to change your DNS.
However, be aware that if you make a mistake in doing so you will render your website and emails inaccessible! So, if you’re not sure, ask for help from your supplier.
